The six quality dimensions
In Jeyeda, the quality of data is judged against six quality dimensions. The dimensions are independent of one another, and their combination gives an overall measure of data quality.

| Dimension | Question it answers |
|---|---|
| Completeness | Are all the required values present, with no missing data? |
| Accuracy | Do the values correctly describe the real-world entity they represent? |
| Consistency | Do related values agree with each other across tables and systems? |
| Validity | Do values conform to the expected format, type, and allowed set of values? |
| Timeliness | Is the data available and up to date when it is needed? |
| Uniqueness | Is each real-world entity represented only once, with no duplicates? |
Because the dimensions are independent, you can configure rules for each one separately and then combine their results into a single, well-rounded view of quality. Each rule you create in Jeyeda belongs to one of these dimensions — see Rules.
